On Roomhints, we strive to create sustainable, timeless and unique spaces with good quality materials. There is nothing better than a vintage piece to achieve this goal. Such as a rare Cocobolo desk.
A vintage piece will never be on trend but it will never be off trend. It will last you years and years. In addition, it will save you time over the years. Find a desk that you love, invest in it and then you will never have to think about buying a desk for your space again.
Vintage markets and garage sales are popping up all over the country. Estate sales also are wonderful as you can usually find good items for a good deal. Or here are some places that we love online.
If you need some help deciding and want to purchase a high quality vintage desk. Here are 5 desk hints that we absolutely LOVE!
Rare Cocobolo Desk by Don Shoemaker
A bespoken and rare desk by celebrated Mexican designer and woodworker Don Shoemaker, model no F46. This desk was designed in 1970s and executed in 1981, the desk is constructed with patchwork of exotic Cocobolo wood, a tropical hardwood from central America known for its expressive grains and attractive colors. You will not find wood or a desk quality like this today!
Danish Midcentury Santos Rosewood Desk
This desk is absolutely stunning and will last for years and years. It will be such a statement in your office, you will impress all your clients and enjoy working there each day.

Chippendale Style Chinoiserie Lacquered Desk
This desk is selling for $680, that is such a steal! A new desk with not as good quality material or unique painted design would cost anywhere from $2000+. I love the ornate details and the feminine quality to this desk.
Chippendale style chinoiserie lacquered desk with a rectangular top over three pull drawers. The piece has cabriole legs with ball and claw feet. Some minor flaking and craquelure to the lacquer surface. In great vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and use.
French Louis XV Style Secretary Desk
How ridiculously gorgeous and cute is this desk! I love the color and details. Of course this would just be a laptop desk and I am not so sure how practical it would really be but I am sure that it would make any room that you put it in and create an eclectic design feel to the space.

Danish Desk in Rosewood
This desk would be absolutely perfect in any modern designed home. The simple, minimal yet interesting design you would never get bored of. It truly is timeless.
Desk, rosewood and metal, Denmark, 1960s Scandinavian Modern desk in the manner of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard. Simplistic and functional design, for instance the drawers that are placed below the desk top. Between the drawers is an open storage space for storage as well. The tabletop contains a small moveable unit for small stationery items and two storage units on the side. The desk is finished with wonderful, typical Scandinavian Modern details, such as the integrated handles in the drawers and cylindrical legs. The wood features a beautiful warm grain rosewood, almost ruby red.
Well, we hope that you LOVE these vintage desks as much as we do. As I mentioned above; vintage is sustainable, timeless, good quality and one of a kind.
