San Francisco Interior Designer Janel Holiday: Roomhints Interview

Janel Holiday is a San Francisco interior designer. While she particularly enjoys mid-century and modern design, she appreciates it all. She values honest vendors, sub and client relationships and strives to make the experience of hiring an interior designer a fun one.

I love looking at my projects as a canvas and building color, texture and pattern into them.

What’s a product that every room needs?

Interesting lighting.

Tell us one thing you wish everyone knew about interior design.

Check out student art shows and flea markets for hidden gems.

What’s a design hint that’s never failed you over the course of your career?

Paint is easily corrected and/or changed. Go for that bold and fun color you’ve been thinking about for years!

Where do you get your inspiration from? Who inspires you?

Short travel trips, photography, art shows and some of my favorite vendors.

Tell us about a time that confirmed why you love being an interior designer.

Make sure you jive with your designer and that they understand how you actually live and use your space. They should design for YOU, not for themselves or their portfolio.
