What are some of your favorite kitchen materials to use?

Brianne: “I love to use over-scaled pendants. It is a fun way to create something very unexpected. Also quartzite stone has been my recent go to. It’s a natural material from South America and very resilient but beautiful too. I prefer to use the same stone as the backsplash as well.”

How would you recommend pairing different kitchen materials together?

Brianne: “I like to introduce some contrast in a kitchen. Whether it’s between the color of the cabinet or the stone top or a trend as of recently; contrasting the cabinets by painting the island a darker color such as navy.”

What are some of your design hints on durable and cost-efficient kitchen materials?

Brianne: “Man-made quartz is a great material because not only does it come with a residential warranty but it is very durable and comes in extra large slabs for better yield on material. Hardware is the jewelry of the home however I love a hardware-free kitchen and it certainly helps keep costs down as nice cabinet pulls can add up in a large kitchen!”
